The Allentown Studio

Inside an old grist mill, above a coffeehouse, beside a river.

Our original studio — and the place The Movement began.

Tucked inside The Mill in the heart of historic Allentown, our first studio is exactly what a sanctuary should feel like: a century-old building, a river out the window, the smell of coffee drifting up the stairs, and a room that opens a little wider every time you walk into it.

Inside The Mill

A studio built into history.

The Mill has been standing on Main Street since long before any of us got here. It's the kind of building you can feel — exposed beams, wide-plank floors, the hush of a place that's held a lot of lives. Upstairs, we've carved out two studios: one main practice room on the second floor, and a heated room on the third floor when the practice calls for a little more fire.

And because sanctuary is a full sensory experience, we also have our Sunlighten Infrared Sauna on-site — the medical-grade heat our members come back to again and again. (That's exclusive to Allentown, so if sauna is part of your practice, this is your studio.)

What's in the building

  • Main studio — second floor

  • Heated studio — third floor (up to about 100°F, no humidity)

  • Sunlighten Infrared Sauna — on-site, Allentown only

  • Shared entry and lounge space with The Moth Coffeehouse downstairs

  • A restroom is on the lower level

Make a day of it

Before class. After class. Both.

One of the quiet joys of practicing in Allentown: you can make a whole morning of it without moving your car. The Mill building itself houses The Moth Coffeehouse — the cozy-as-it-gets spot right downstairs where half of our regulars land after class for coffee, pastries, and the kind of conversation that extends the practice another hour.

Step outside The Mill and you're in the middle of historic Allentown. A few blocks in any direction you'll find small-town cafés, local shops, wellness practitioners, and the river winding its way through the edge of town. It's the kind of downtown you don't rush through. Which is the whole point.

In The Mill

The Moth Coffeehouse — coffee, pastries, light breakfast and brunch. Walk downstairs after class. (Closed Mondays and Sundays.)

There are many small shops and businesses located in the Mill building and on the property. Explore a little and visit our neighbors!

Within a few blocks

Walkable cafés, a handful of well-loved local restaurants, small boutiques, and a wellness practitioner or two along Main Street. Ask at the front desk for current recommendations — our teachers know this town and love to share.

New here?

A few things to know.

Getting In

Enter through the main entrance of The Mill on Main Street, and take the stairs up to the second floor. Our main studio is on the second floor; the heated studio is on the third. Signs will guide you.

Arrive Early

First time at the studio? Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early. That gives you time to check in, sign your waiver if you haven't already, meet your teacher, and settle into the room before class begins.

Before Your First Class

Every class at The Movement requires a signed waiver. It only takes a minute, and you only have to do it once. Register now →

What to Bring

Water and yourself. We have a limited supply of mats, props, and equipment on-site — if you have your own mat, please bring it so there's enough to go around.

What to Wear

Comfortable workout clothes and layers. Between the heated room, the main studio, and the walk in and out, your body temperature might shift — you'll want the option to peel off or pile on.
